Lauren Nicole Eberhardt (Lorena Nicole) obtained her passport to become a future star in the musical arena the day she was born in Mesa, Az, on October 9, 1986, under the sign of Libra. Her family, with older brother Steve and sister Erica, later moved and settled in her mother’s hometown of Yuma, AZ.
At the age of three, Lorena's love for performing began as she realized a passion for dance. Especially in the structured and very disciplined world of ballet. Growing up in a half Spanish & half English speaking home, this Mexican-American girl was always surrounded by a very diverse musical environment. Mariachi music, country, The Beatles, oldies and even her classical ballet were always seamlessly rotated. This enabled her to develop a special taste and appreciation for great music in both languages.
Her grandma Nena and aunt Baby were always watching novelas and listening to their favorite Mexican artists when Lauren would go there after school everyday. Lauren began to feel great comfort in the sounds and emotion of Latin music and soon found herself spending countless Friday and Saturday nights entertaining dinner quests and friends at "The El Mariachi Restaurant" and numerous get-togethers with her ‘familia’.
At the age of twelve, Lorena Nicole continued performing at private parties and small festivals, singing popular selections from Linda Ronstadt’s "Canciones de Mi Padre" album and of course, Selena's greatest hits. James Inghram, president of JY Entertainment, gave her the opportunity to open for Ramon Ayala, the "King of Accordion". Positive responses guaranteed Lorena that spot for five consecutive years and took her all around Arizona and San Luis, Sonora. This opened doors for Lorena as she continued to perform with other renowned acts such as Bronco, Cornelio Reyna, Jr., Polo Urias and international dance diva, Miss CeCe Peniston.
After graduating from Yuma Catholic High School in 2005, Lorena's decision to move to Los Angeles to pursue her dream proved to be a wise one. Acceptance and an audition based scholarship to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy not only allowed Lorena Nicole to get closer to her Bachelor of Fine Arts but also enabled her to re-visit that old passion for all types of dance (ballet, jazz, tap and salsa) and introduced her to musical theatre and acting. This time in her life was extremely self-motivating, as she continued to work on her craft. Despite her immersion in traditional Mexican music, Lorena began to develop a feel for the pop/rock genre. Artists like Shakira and Paulina Rubio, with their innovative styles and ability to withstand time, inspired her to explore deeper into the pop/rock movement, and develop her own unique and contemporary sound to this special style of music.
This dedication and perseverance definitely shine through in her debut album, Pasaporte a las Estrellas. An accomplishment and collaboration of new and old friends and especially family. The debut single, "Pensar en Ti" (Thinking of You), is a beautiful, subtle, mid-tempo ballad that showcases Lorena's vocal aptitude and alludes to the yearning that exists in the heart of someone deeply in love when their loved one is not there. The song was written by Lorena Nicole and the album's producer Adaamick Mendoza, along with "Vuelve a Mi" (Return to Me) and "El Me Enseñó"(He Taught Me).
